Description
In this project Forme d'acqua Venice Fountains returns to collaborate with the architect Nicola Bottoni of LENDstudio in Lodi (LO) for the realization of a large waterfall for an oriental fusion cuisine restaurant. This time we are in San Giovanni in Persiceto (Bologna, Italy) and the restaurant is UNA Sushi, which has been designed to make the experience unique thanks to the care of the furnishings and the charming and suggestive atmosphere that surrounds it.
The restaurant is located in a commercial building, the subject of an important redevelopment that totally involved the interiors and exteriors, in order to bring natural light into the room and focus all attention towards the large waterfall. Internally, interventions were made by giving a loud voice to the theme of the restaurant, the aquatic world, declined in the colors of black, grey, corten and gold applied in alternating patterns in a series of geometric elements, which create a chromatic game that accompanies the guests during the whole experience.
The large cascade welcomes guests from the outside and accompanies them throughout the depth of the room, becoming a distributive and structural spine of the space. Placed in the centre of the room, in front of the entrance door, the waterfall reveals itself as a key element of the entire restaurant, both for those seated at the table and for those using the two doors that give onto the perimeter garden. The waterfall also becomes a scenic backdrop for people socializing in the waiting area.
The waterfall stands at a height of 5.35m for a width of 1.15m, given by a double crystal-coloured glass, also used as a parapet, in the centre of which is the restaurant logo. The water overflows from the top of the wall, slowly descending to completely cover the sliding surface and reach the basin below, without wetting the surrounding area.
Forme d'Acqua Venice Fountains took care of the design and construction of the MEP design of the fountain, arranging a pump for water filtration and recirculation and an automatic panel for the control and balancing of values of the anti-algae and anti-limescale products. This in order to guarantee always crystalline and healthy water, but also clean to avoid damaging the systems or ruining the aesthetics of the fountain. Forme d'Acqua also took care of the design and tailor-made construction of the overflow tank in AISI 316L stainless steel, the ideal material for installations constantly in contact with treated water and which require components with a precise shape and clean and resistant welding.
