Description
The aim of the project by the architect Devis Rampazzo was to set off the statue of the Madonna, giving it prominence while also helping it to fit in with its natural surroundings in the Parco dei Cigni, near the bend in the River Sile in Jesolo, near Venice.
The statue was placed at the centre of a circular fountain that represents the eye of the Virgin Mary.
Her gentle gaze offers joy, serenity and protection to the members of the community that were so keen to have her with them. Aquatic plants were placed in the water to create a link with the delicate landscape of the bend in the river.
