Description
Amy Sushi is a well-know chain of Japanese restaurants with seventeen locations set in Lombardy region. In 2019 the property wanted to make a return to origins by bringing a luxury Japanese restaurant to Shenzhen, the fourth largest city in China. For that new unit, located on the ground floor of a futuristic skyscraper, architects Nicola Bottoni and Elisabetta Puviani of LENDstudio Architettura e Ingegneria of Lodi created a project that proposed a refined and international style, suitable for welcoming both local and international customers, departing from the trend of that time which offered restaurants with a minimalist design and linked to traditional Japanese architecture. The project concept is contained in the idea of “return to origins”: a return to nature by reproducing a setting that recalls a pond in the interior furnishing, which breaks completely with the outside, where there is an highly technology and modern architecture, typical of a metropolis. In this project, water plays a key role: the theme is to bring water into a man-made construction and to put an accent on its strong symbolism linked to life, time and the self. For this arch. Bottoni, the artistic director of the project, decided to rely on water artisans for the realisation of the custom made fountains and therefore to Forme d’Acqua Venice Fountains. The concept finds its whole implementation in the large floor-level mirrored fountain, on which the restaurant room develops, which represents the image of the pond, where five islands alternate harmoniously with artistic fountains that reproduce the ears of “mazzesorde” (Typha latifolia). The pond, represented by the mirror fountain, spreads over 100 square meters and is crossed by a stone walkway, modeled on the Japanese steps, which leads to eleven large water lilies (recessed with respect to the floor level) where the calendered iron tables are housed. Five artistic fountains with essential lines alternate in this stretch of water, each made up of nine long thin hollow canes, in IASI 316 stainless steel, from the top of which gushes water that descends lightly on the hand-made Murano glass mazzesorde in three colors (gold, silver and black) made by the glass master Nicola Moretti. In each of the five fountains an OASE Aquarius Universal Premium Eco 3000 pump is installed, which sends the water to the pipes and regulates the flow. The attractive charm of these artistic fountains is given by their elegant simplicity and the strong communicative power of the elements that compose them: glass, water and steel. The flow of water and the reflections of these elements on the mirror surface of the fountain are emphasized by the warm light of fifteen OASE Profilux LED 350/01 spots. A perfect combination of natural elements, glass and wall finishing led to an innovative design in this luxurious location where Made in Italy craftsmanship reigns: entering Amy Sushi is like immersing yourself in a work of art made up of natural elements and lake environments, which oppose the artificiality of the outside and welcome guests with their spontaneous beauty.
