VENICE – Sunday, September 10 The Venice Glass Week officially opened the doors to all glass, design and art lovers, to all the conoisseurs of the matter but also to the those who are simply keen to know.
This first edition of the International Glass Art Festival has registered memberships from more than 100 organizations. The desire of artists and designers to celebrate glass, to innovate and translate it in a modern way, is palpable in the calli of the whole city. In this week, the lagoon will host more than 150 of the most varied initiatives, which have like central theme the artistic glass, with particular regard to Murano.
This first The Venice Glass Week is a great launch ramp in front of an ever-more prosperous and stimulating future for the world of artistic glass. With great satisfaction, the creators – the Foundation Musei Civici di Venezia, Giorgio Cini Foundation, Veneto Institute of Sciences, Arts and Crafts and Murano Promovetro Consortium – after two years of research, organization and planning, they can see their efforts achieved to be one of the most important glass-related collaborations in the Venetian territory.
The most popular events are: 88 exhibitions, 21 special openings, 7 conferences, 11 guided tours, 11 workshops, 4 activities for children, 3 shows, 3 presentations, 1 themed dinner and 1 night race among the Murano calli and the furnaces.
To keep up-to-date and not miss any event, H-FARM guys have released a downloadable app for both iOS and Android, available in Italian and English. The simple and intuitive app provides all the information about the festival and its protagonists, shows a detailed event map, filterable by date, time, place or type, and guides you directly to the destination you have chosen.
